Cruising world famous Halong Bay and landing on one of its finest beaches may just be the perfect way to end the day. The six following destinations are ideal places for relaxation and recreation while you are on your trip.
Tuan Chau Beach
Lively Tuan Chau Beach
Located on the southwest side of Halong City, Tuan Chau serves as the entrance to this UNESCO World Heritage site and has only relatively recently become the new tourism hub of Halong Bay. Tuan Chau Beach, with 2.2 km2 of white, sandy beaches and rolling hills. The beach sits below Tuan Chau’s luxury hotel and resort area that caters mostly to the Asian market. Excursions and activities around Tuan Chau are available, including a day cruise through Halong Bay.

Bai Chay Beach
Beautiful Bai Chay Beach
Considered one of the three major tourism hubs in Halong City, Bai Chay Beach is popular with Vietnamese travellers and tourists who visit the area, especially during summer. Bai Chay Beach is more than 500 meters long, and almost as wide, and the area caters for a wide range of activities. With seafood restaurants, shopping malls, the night market, a theme park as well as bicycle riding, fishing, swimming, there really is something for everyone at Bai Chay Beach.
Ba Trai Dao Beach

Also known as Three Peaches Islet, Ba Trai Dao is located near Cat Ba Island, the largest island in the Halong archipelago. Ba Trai Dao Island comprises three small mountains that are at least 23 metres high, and — when viewed from a distance — resembles three peaches stuck to together, and hence its name. The island is 22 kilometres from Bai Chay Tourist Wharf, and it takes about 3 to 4 hours to get there by a junk boat, ensuring it remains secluded and therefore relatively untouched.
Ti Top Beach

Located approximately 8 kilometres from Bai Chay Wharf, Ti Top Island (or Titov Island as it is also known) is one of the most popular beach attractions in Halong Bay. Not only can you find one of the best views across the Bay, Ti Top’s beach is also perfect for a refreshing swim after the climb to the top. Named after Gherman Titov, a respected astronaut from Russia who visited the island in 1962, Ti Top Island should be on everyone’s itinerary.

Ngoc Vung Beach
A quiet summer’s day on Ngoc Vung Beach
With an area of about 122 km2, Ngoc Vung Island is the ideal getaway for couples on their honeymoon, or those who want to rekindle their romance. With its easygoing lifestyle and crescent-shaped beach that is more than 3 kilometres long, Ngoc Vung Beach is a quiet and relaxed destination.
Soi Sim Beach
The hidden gem of Soi Sim Beach
Soi Sim Island gets its name from the ubiquitous plant that can be found on the island, and is another “must visit” beach attraction in Halong Bay. Covering an area of 8.7 hectares, and with hills to a height of 200 metres, Soi Sim is a popular destination on cruise itineraries. The lush, cool vegetation on the island as well as its sheltered beach ensures it remains a firm favourite with travellers.
